Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Cypress Speaks Speech Therapy different from other speech therapy businesses?

At Cypress Speaks Speech Therapy, we focus on building relationships with our patients and their families along with promoting self-regulation. When a child feels regulated and safe with a trusted therapist, communication can blossom. We believe the same is true for feeding and swallowing.

What are your hours of operation?

We are open Monday – Thursday from 9:00AM – 7:00PM.
Evaluations can be scheduled for select Saturdays.

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

It never hurts to call and set up a consultation with one of our speech language pathologist. We will spend 15-20 minutes reviewing developmental milestones, parent concerns, previous medical history, and schedule an evaluation if needed.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, cash, and HSA/FSA. Payment is due at the time of service.

What insurances are we in network with?

We are currently in network with the following insurance companies: Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, TMHP Medicaid (Traditional), Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) Medicaid, WellPoint (Previously Amerigroup), and Superior Health Plan/ Ambetter.

If you’re not a member of one of the insurance providers listed above, please give us a call at (281) 246-0004 to discuss your out-of-network benefits!

What is a speech-language pathology assistant (SLP-Assistant)?

As defined by ASHA, speech-language pathology assistants are support personnel who, following academic coursework, fieldwork, and on-the-job training, perform tasks prescribed, directed, and supervised by ASHA-certified speech-language pathologists.
