Cypress Speaks Speech Therapy

Emily Henry is the founder and CEO of Cypress Speaks Speech Therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas and her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Texas Woman’s University. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is an active member of the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA).

With experience across public schools, private practice, and community-based settings, Emily has worked with children from infancy through young adulthood. She supports a wide range of communication differences, including receptive and expressive language, social communication (pragmatics), articulation and phonology, childhood apraxia of speech, fluency, and pediatric feeding.

Emily’s approach is rooted in neurodiversity-affirming care, where communication is honored in all forms. She believes that connection, regulation, and trust are the foundation for meaningful progress. Therapy sessions are play-based, relationship-driven, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths, interests, and sensory needs.

She is especially passionate about partnering with families—empowering parents with practical strategies, education, and support so that communication growth continues beyond the therapy room.

Emily has completed the Inside Out Sensory Certificate Program for SLPs and incorporates sensory-informed strategies to support regulation and engagement, helping children feel safe, confident, and ready to communicate.

Outside of the clinic, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, exploring local parks, going to the movies, listening to podcasts, and finding new ways to bring creativity and play into everyday life. She also loves developing fun, engaging ideas for Cypress Speaks and creating resources that support families beyond the therapy room.
